Back in time, when IoT was just an unknown sequence of letters, we discovered our passion for automation. At the time (2010) the challenge was to create a home automation system with no proprietary technologies as the client want to use his preferred off-the-shelf audio and video equipment and legacy HVAC system.

Since then we have developed a hefty experience in this industry, dealing with a wide range of technologies and protocols: DLNA, serial, (NFC), SPI, I2C, GPIO, IR; of programming languages: C, C++, PHP, micropython, NodeJs; of hardware: (Arduino), Raspberry Pi, Espressif ESP8266 and ESP32.

Proof of Concept (PoC)

Turning industrial measuring equipment into a connected smart device to collect measurement data remotely. Connecting legacy hardware with RS-232 port to a Raspberry Pi to do the smart part. Embedded software written in C++. Web app to setup measures and read and plot data locally.

Prototype

Turning industrial-grade water purifier/dispenser into a connected smart device to collect working parameters and detect failures, resupply consumables (filters and gas canisters) automatically, stop the dispenser from remote. Connecting sensors and relays to a Raspberry Pi to do the smart part. Embedded software written in C++. Web app to monitor device locally. Cloud services for remote control and alerts on proprietary cloud.

Market ready

Turning a high-end home scent diffuser into a smart device for remote control and programming via mobile app. Embedded software written in micropython on Espressif ESP32 hardware. Also assisting in designing a custom-made, shape-and-size-constrained board to replace current basic electric circuitry altogether.

Roadshows

“Ma.Gi.C.“ home gateway to connect a variety of off-the-shelf IoT devices: smart bulbs, smart plugs, webcams, smart relays, products by HomeMatic to a single smart home gateway and control them with a single app. Stand-alone gateway or installed into designer range hoods (in the latter case controlling also hood fan and lights). Gateway developed on a Raspberry Pi with software in C++. Voice control with Amazon Alexa. Remote control and management of gateway through VPN.

Care home assistant

An end-to-end solution for care homes and hospices, including: designing smart devices with sensors and relay controls based on Espressif ESP32 hardware and micropython software, designing home gateway, integrating third-party WiFi health monitors, local rule engine on gateway, local data collection, transfer of anonymised selected data to cloud, statistics, AI (clustering), data display and share on dashboard.
